Mine worked fine for 4 years and then the problems started, read below


General Comments

Went away for a weekend break got back to find my Samsung RS21 switched off. Opened the fridge door only to find that it had caught fire!! Called Samsung who recommended a company locally who would repair it. The engineer arrived took one look at the fridge and said it was a "write off". Transpires that there is a heater element in the fridge that stops the fridge icing up, this had malfunctioned and caught fire, the fire burnt the plastic interior rendering the unit irrepairable. Contacted Samsung and they seemed very keen to sort out what is obviously an extremely serious fault. Alas they did not seem interested and offered me £50 for all my food that I lost and the engineers call out cost. I have found Samsungs attitude to what could have been a serious house fire completely unacceptable. I am in two minds whether or not to pursue this matter through the courts as I feel that my fridge should have lasted longer than 4 years. I am now looking for a replacement as my insurance company have very kindly agreed to replace the unit (Aviva N/Union excellent) but I am struggling to find a decent replacement. Needless to say it wont be a Samsung, pity as I really liked the fridge freezer, right up to this point!

    I found this review very helpful because...my Samsuung worked perfectly then had some problems with the coolant part which was replaced in March = then on Saturday strange noises from the fridge and opened the door to find flames = the lady at Samsung was not very empathetic - got an engineer coming tomorrow - I do not want it rebuilt I need it replaced and them to cover the cost of the call out etc etc.
