Stabilized images with all lenses, Carl Zeiss exclusive lens line up, perfect feel and weight with optional vertical grip that doubles control layout, long battery life, optional flash such as Sony 58AM and solid build quality. Version 4 firmware makes it into a whole new camera.
Bad Points
None so far after 1 full year owning two of them. Sony could have updated, or even shipped them initially with an equivalent of version 4 firmware.
General Comments
This camera is an all out excellent value. I use two for professional work along with an array of Carl Zeiss, Sigma and Tamron lenses. If you have other systems, then save money and stick with them, but if you have the money and lack brand loyalty, you would not be disappointed one bit with the Sony A700 dslr.
