After my initial 0% interest rate with Virgin Credit Card finished I have received letters every 6 months telling me my interest rate is increasing up to 34.9%! After a phone call they drop it back down again. This week I received a new one. A letter telling me that my rate is increasing to 26.9%. They give you the option to "opt out" and keep your current ineterest rate, but if you choose to do this then they will stop all transactions on your account until you have cleared your account, at which point your card will be cancelled! I have never expereince this kind of treatment from a credit card company - definitly not one you keep hold of. They have the balance transfer deal, then get rid of it!
