Delivery of my order from Argos was due by no later than 21 February and I was told someone would be in touch by 19 February to arrange it. As the order was placed on 17 Jan I thought this was plenty of time for someone to get in touch. I didn't receive a call and on 19 Feb I rang them to be told that apparently the order was heavily delayed and I'd be getting a letter about it. I did wonder what good's a letter after the event - which by the way I still don't seem to have received. Meanwhile I'd had my old suite removed on 14 Feb in anticipation of the new one.
I've written to Customer Services to express my irritation at the fact that I received no notification about the delay and they've replied to say they see I've cancelled the order due to the delay and my card will be credited shortly - I feel this is totally missing the point that the delay was one thing, but the fact I received no notification about it is quite another and now I'm left with a room with no furniture. It did prompt me to go to Ikea though and I found what I wanted. If Argos had been a bit more concerned by their error I think I would no doubt have continued to shop with them - I feel the customer care I received was poor.
