jbwd's Review of Pontins, Camber

It's Pontins - that means cheap and cheerful with activities for the kids and entertainment in the evening. We've been going to Pontins at Camber for the past 3 years and enjoying ourselves. My kids (13 and 11) always have a great time enjoying the PGL activities, the entertainment and the fantastic beach. There are good historic sites to visit nearby including Rye and Battle (as in 1066) which my kids loved. The chalets are a little run down and sometimes need to be cleaned upon arrival but that is normal for such places.

The food in the restaurant is not very good but it's self catering so a trip up the road to Sainsburys in New Romney covers that and the cooking facilities are good enough.

The heating is not very good and that is important in Winter. This year the prices for electricity have been increased a lot - last year we spent £2 and this year £10.

It can be noisy at night and some people just abandon their kids to run around all night but that is a fault of the parents not Pontins. I go to Pontins (and similar places) for my kids to have a fun beach and activity holiday and they deliver on that very well. The evening entertainment is variable in quality but generally good.

If I want something spotless and quite this isn't for you but otherwise it's great.

I'd recommend Pontins to any family with children.
