The HTC Touch HD is the ultimate spec phone imo, cannot leave home without it.
Ive had a long range of HTC phones, my previous phone was an XDA Orbit which served me well.
I had been waiting and waiting for the HTC Touch Pro to come out as i felt i really needed a keyboard.. but when i saw the screen on the HD I thought i could carry on using the on screen jobbie.
I got it around mid Dec, and in Jan it broke.. the screen went awol and it constantly dropped calls in low ish signal areas.. htc did repair it though (mobiles.co.uk didn't... would not buy again!) anyway, it was replaced with a new handset that works perfect..so im very pleased, except HTC didn't send me a new screen protector!
My big BIG beef with this phone, is the usual with the recent HTC phones, the chip inside it is capable of a lot more.. but because they're cheap they wont buy the drivers off qualcomm.
Also check xda-developers for the latest roms and improvements, these devices have a lot of potential to unlock.
The rest is perfect, the new touch flo is really good to use, the screen just makes the phone and now all other phones look like theyve got stone age ones. Only bad points is the camera is naff, very slow to take photos. Forget using it in the dark.
My first one was faulty
lack of drivers

I have been considering upgrading from my TyTN II to the HD for a while. The TyTN II had the same driver issues, but I found it handled mp4 well (avi is rubbish). I need a good quality GPS receiver (SiRF III) and HTC insist on using the Qualcomm chipset, which is far inferior in this area. I would never have a hardware keyboard again as the spring in mine failed. It looks a great device and is < £300 on eBay now.
I've not seen a newer HTC device which I would rather have.
