Nothing that I can point out - the bike is a very good all-rounder.
General Comments
This scooter far exceeded my expectations. It has the looks, the speed, the speed and one thing I like about this electric scooter is that is has a power setting which you can set for different types of riding such as general riding, traffic and one that gives you more power.
I purchased this scooter as I required a cheap alternative to commute backwards and forwards to my work place. When I saw how cheap these scooters where compared to the ones currently on the market today and they also had more accessories and had better power, speed and range than any other scooter I had found on the internet.
Very happy with my Elecscoot electric scooter, I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for an affordable transport.

on 7th Mar 2009Hi,
Yes I would definitely recommend you look into one. I bought the Elecscoot-4 and have been very pleased with it indeed. When I purchased the scooter they informed me that they had just changed the specification on the Elecscoot-4 and it now came with a 60 volt / 60 AH battery with a full battery management system built into the bike. You get a 5inch TFT screen on the center panel to tell you the condition of the battery, how many miles you have left and other neat little functions. The other new specs on the scooter are it travels up to 97 miles on one charge and takes 2 hrs to fully charge the battery. I got 57 mph out of it on a straight road and it has got some pulling power. The battery also lasts for 3000+ charges which is very good as well.
I commute on it to work every day and find it very good nipping through traffic. Insurance I found ranges from £150 to £180 max and that's fully comp as well. I think they have a few links to insurance websites on their site so maybe look into that if you re on the website.
I got a very good deal on the new Elecscoot-4 as when I phone up the company to enquire about the scooter, they said they would do me a deal by giving me the new elecscoot-4 for the price of the old Elecscoot-4. I had to wait 6 weeks but it was well worth it in the end.
Give them a call and you may save £800 for a very good electric scooter with better specs than anything out there.
Hope this helps.devilman976

Hi Devilman
I just bought an elecscoot4 and i haven't got a screen showing the miles left on the scooter. also, my one struggles to hit 45 mph on high power. Have you got a newer model or something? I want to know why i haven't got that on mine!devilman976
on 24th Mar 2009If you re-read my post you'll see that I mentioned that I phoned Elecscoot directly. I phoned the company to get more information on the Elecscoot-4 and they were able to offer me the new specification.

Hi,
I know you had this scooter for only a while now, but I wanted to ask you if you could give any further comments on it, as I am seriously thinking of buying the same model.
First of all, price seems to me quite high (for a scooter, I know that vectrix cost abt 6500 so this one is cheaper but still). How is the charge range? Is it really 60+ miles as claimed by manufacturer? What abt speed? Insurance cost (roughly in ur case)? Maintanence cost?
Would you recommend it for London commuting?
Thanks a lot!
