At Alexanders Lincoln, the food was good, the large chips great, the waiting staff were also nice and friendly. My son is only 1 yrs old and my friends child almost 2. The waitresses were lovely and provided us with high chairs, they also moved other chairs out so we could all fit round one table without getting in anyone elses way. We ordered food for ourselves and although my friend had brought a sandwich for her child (due to no offering of childrens meals) we still bought a sandwich for them to share aswell. On finishing our meal, we wiped down the high chairs with our wet wipes so they were clean and i also picked up the food from the floor that the children had dropped, apart from a few crumbs. The table had the usual plates on from myself and my friend, but NO mess from the children. On paying we were approached by a rude man who informed us that the mess we had left was unexceptable!! We obviously laughed as we thought he was joking, we were told he wasnt joking and although we may except the mess, he didnt and thought it was unfair for his staff to clear up the mess!!. We were very shocked by this and offered to clear whatever mess we had left, but he stormed off to clear it himself. The only thing that i could see we had left was a small pile of wet wipes on one of the plates and a small pile of food the children had left which we had picked up off the floor or the highchairs! Next time i will remember not to bother and leave everything over the floor.
Being in retail myself i am aware of good customer service and the fact that children do make a small mess, but surely if you offer high chairs they are advertising to be child friendly which we felt they are not. Such a shame for a nice little place that we had liked up until that point!
