General Comments

Attempted to fly out from my regional airport to London, with a connection in Chicago.

Flight was cancelled for maintenance reasons. Was told by customer service rep that I was booked first class all the way on continental. Turned out to be a lie: when I got to my hotel, I noticed he had just booked me for economy.

The next morning, that flight was cancelled and they tried bussing us to Newark to catch my new connecting flight. Bus driver drove slowly and took the long way, so I missed my flight. Went to United Airlines, told them my story, and they didn't care. They said "well, I don't care, so we're not upgrading you, but we'll put you on this flight". Awesome. out to chicago, where I had a five hour layover.

Went to customer service out there to try to get an upgrade. Again, was told that they didn't care and wouldn't upgrade me, but through some error, I got into economy plus. Plane was delayed a further two hours for mechanical failure. 5 hour layover turned into close to 8 hours.

Got to England a day late, on the way back a week later, they lost all record of my tickets, but that was sorted out by the very helpful British customer service reps. Way better than Americans.

Came home, tried to get an international flight voucher for their mistakes. Lady said I was getting a 250 voucher like I asked. It was only for domestic flights.

Call customer service, they told me they didn't care and would not give me an International flight voucher. Asked to speak to the supervisor, he told me he didn't care at all and wouldn't give me a voucher. Asked to speak to his boss and he SAID NO.

I asked to speak to his boss and he said "no, i'm not letting you speak to anyone else. we don't transfer the call any further". The call center was based in New Delhi, India. There is no other customer service line.

I received absolutely no help from United for their terrible service and rude, uncaring staff members.
