We went to La Tasca for Valentines lunch as we thought we could have a nice leisurely Spanish Tapas style lunch - How wrong we were!! The food was completely tasteless and we couldn't wait to get out. The only thing that tasted authentic was the Sangria. The Paella looked like Batchelors Golden savoury rice and tasted the same, the Gabas al pil pil which is supposed to taste of garlic and chilli and still be spiting when it arrives on the table tasted of neither and the oil was as still if it had just been poured out of the bottle - I often make this dish and it is about the easiest dish anyone can make but they still managed to get this wrong. Anyone who thinks this food is good has most obviously never eaten tapas at a proper Spanish bar - I'm not talking about one that caters for the Brits but one where the locals would eat. Once you have eaten proper tapas believe me you will never return here again! Only good point was the sangria!!
