This was my 1st ever cruise on MS Semmiramiss with Thomas Cook HOlidays and i LOVED it!! Total respect to all the people working on the M.S. Semiramiss II to keep it a totally professionaly run holiday.. The standards of cleanliness is first class, with all Staff so eager to please.. The Quality of this holiday although includes fair amount of walking to visit tombs etc, which was main reason for going, scored very highly with me. We were lucky enough to have a guide called Ahmed, an egyptoligst with unlimited knowledge who stopped our coach outside a pharmacy to run in and get cough medicine for one of us!!! As i said earlier, i was most impressed by how welcoming every one was. it was my birthday whilst there and i was serenaded by the chefs and our table presented with a chocolate birthday cake!! The thomas Cook rep held the welcome meeting at 7.30pm after a long flight and transfer.... Is it customary to be TOLD how much to put in the Two envelopes for tips at end of Cruise? one for the guides, one for all other staff? Try to take some small notes for tips at temples etc, as very hard to get change on board..
