Just returned from a short break in the Lake District with Contours Walking Holidays. Contours were amazing. The route was exceptional, scenery fantastic, hotels wonderful and luggage transfer worked perfectly as usual. Sadly the weather was very variable - sun, snow, blue skies and then at the end of the tour - blizzards. Contours were amazing. Due to the weather the bus to get back to my car were cancelled, leaving me stranded. I rang up Contours to ask for help in getting back - expecting them to say 'try Trev's Taxis' - but they didn't. Instead, one of the owners came out in his car and gave me a lift back. Amazing service. And he wouldn't accept payment for his time or petrol! Well done Contours. I will be back

    WelshWalker...Very curious as to the setup of your Lakes Short Walk. I've done several similar holidays with Sherpa Walking Tours and have had amazing holidays.

    However, I booked a Lakes Short Walk with contours to do with the whole family (Sherpa only has long walks). We booked about 6 months in advance, and I was so upset when I got my tour packet which showed we were booked in one B and B with daily taxi transfers to and from the walk. They said they could not get single night bookings in the Lake District, and by that point, could not get single night bookings in any of their Lake District walks. We changed to Hadrian's Wall walk.

    Was your walk Inn to Inn? The experience leaves with a very negative feeling about this company.
