Good fuel economy, good acceleration, great handling, great looks with M-Sport package. Over priced, potential E.C.U problems. Having returned to my then-5-month-old car after a 10 day trip abroad, it refused to start. Car had to be towed to a garage. After 2 days of several diagnostic tests, the car's ECU was reset. I was told that of the 20 different "cycles", (which the engine runs through from ignition start to ignition switch-off), 18 were operating normally but 2 were defective, resulting in the apparent "dead" engine. BMW say they cannot guarantee that it won't happen again. Lets just say I wasn't impressed! Great performing, albeit overpriced car, & watch out for potential ECU problems.

I went for a test drive in the 123d M Sport, nice car to drive, smooth and handels well. Not got the feeling of outright pace that I thought it would have, although it is quick, and perhaps not as quick as my current corsa vxr. Fuel economy seems good from all the reviews I have read and the stop/start technology worked perfect and quickly when I stopped at the traffic lights.
Only gripe is as said in other comments, it seems to be a bit over priced.
Also, in my opinion the M Sport package is a must to make it look good.
