Grow Your Own Veg by Carol Klein is very inspiring. Carol's enthusiasm leaps of f the page and just makes you want to get out in the garden, get your hands in the soil and start growing your own veg. and eat it! I built raised beds in my small garden with the help of this book and grew onions, salad crops, runner beans, beetroot and courgettes. I also grew potatoes in containers. I think also what is nice about Carol's whole ethos is her belief that gardening doesn't have to be expensive - share seed with neighbours, save seed for next year, reuse and recycle what you have already in you garden.
I read this book in the winter and dream of what I'm going to grow - its a bit like gardening porn.
