miserable customer care and -service


General Comments

Month ago I tried to open an offshore account at Lloyds. I followed the instructions given in the website and sent all documents needed via DHL. I am definitely not a poor person. All my private details I proved to Lloyds by means of certified documents. Since then I was called on a daily basis by the customer care service - asked to prove my yearly income (although they had the 3 month salary slips in original already), proof of address, asked again why I want to open the account, asked for additional bank statements in original, asked after two month for my recent salary slip of January 2009 (I did not even got it myself that time), sent in- upon being asked again - documents of savings I have in my European bank and fond details, and finally - the greatest hit - asked for the proof of the officer of our major office to prove that he certified my certified documents (passport marriage certificate etc) ! After two month I lost my patience and told them to resend my documents to my address rather than asking me again all the questions I already answered in the questionnaire and send in by means of certified copies by our major office. They called again and asked for proof of the major office and yearly income (although I already had sent in the major office Name, address, contact details and tel. no and details of my bakn itself) That was the moment when I told them to send back all my documents and reimburse the Euro 150 I already invested into sending document after document and certification after certification to Lloyds. I am still waiting for the documents being sent back to me. As a citizen of the European Union I was never treated with this kind of mistrust and impertinence by any bank in my life.
