General Comments
This I think is the best restaurant by far in the Amber Valley in Derbyshire. Its a real gem. The dog Inn is a great country pub keeping its olde world charm with woodburning stove and beams but with a modern twist.
The restaurant food here is exceptional with a good selection main courses. We've tried the chicken, steak with stilton, duck, and venison. All were delicious. The presentation of each course is a work of art (one of my friends took photos of everything, she was so impressed) and you will feel you are going to pay a fortune. Wrong! its about £20-25 per head for 3 courses. They also have set menu during the week, 3 courses for £20
If you want to try it book early. You need to book at least a couple of weeks in advance. Because they are so busy they have several sittings at weekends.
This place is a real find, you will not be disappointed.
