It is good the way the very small Dirty Dancing stage is utilised and the imaginitive set. I have seen quite a lot of shows in the West End and this was the one I enjoyed the least - having said that there were some very good parts and all the lines you wait for "I carried a watermelon" and "nobody puts baby in the corner" certainly delivered but I couldn't help feeling a bit flat at the end of it. The actress playing Baby when I saw it (29 Jan 2009) was AMAZING, it was like watching Jennifer Grey. However, I couldn't help feeling a little bit let down by Johnny who I felt didn't have the charisma to carry it off and he certainly didn't sell himself as Johnny to me, also I found his acting a bit stilted. The end is certainly very feelgood with the audience being invited to stand up and dance and the glitterballs are used to full effect! Although I wouldn't go as far as to say it was bad, I don't think I'd want to see it again. Didn't like the second half, it had a lot of things in it that weren't in the film which seemed to be there just as a "filler"
