Taken is a good action film with superb directing, excellent editing, good acting and many things combined in to one.

Stretching cinematography and interesting, fast paced action sequences. Like many action movies these days it seems the director has discovered that a camera doesn't have to sit still on it's mountings and can be shaken like an egg, some people may like this but I find it to be frustrating and take away from great action sequences.

Taken had so many shaky camera scenes that at some points I was totally lost as to what was going on in a scene.

I may be a little desensitized by all the movies I have watched but Taken seems to be very low on the gore, to the point where justice when the antagonists are killed seem very lackluster and disappointing.

I never really got drawn into the characters with other movies of the same type (See: Death Sentence, Man On Fire) and the whole thing seemed a little generic. All that being said I did really enjoy Taken and it was not a bad film in any sense of movies in general but after waiting to see this movie for well over a year, I must have been expecting something different and I was a little disappointed by the overall outcome of the film.
