General Comments

For a guy that has never step foot in a gym before and has pondered over joining one for over 12 months and finally taking the plunge last March I can honestly say I won't be recommending the Blackburn (Haslingden Road) to any of my friends,

I'm split down the middle concerning the staff, I'd say a few of the reception staff are friendly and it is nice to be welcomed into any establishment, but others just take your card and swipe it and actually make it look hard work.. I mean come on love I know it isn't the best wage ever but you're probably on more than I am per hour so crack us a smile?!

The fitness team are maybe the cliquiest, I reckon you have to 'be in there with them' or they won't give you a second look.. I notice the male instructors spend more time chatting away with the females, fair do's but I want some help with the inclination chest pressure thingy mate!!

I know gyms smell of sweat and man-odour but the toilets are plain disgusting, I try not to use the loo's as the stench physically makes me sick, a regular clean every hour wouldn't go amiss.

All in all I would say go for it if you want to go straight in, get fit and get outta there, but if you're male and need help with the equipment then I'd book a personal instructor.

I am still a member of this gym, haven't been for two months and don't miss it at all, get friendlier staff in and I may become motivated.
