Good Points

I find it works out cheaper than wet food for larger cats.
Easy to store, takes up less space.
Less messy than wet food to serve.
Provides lots of energy and high nutrition.
Helps control hunger for those very hungry cats.

Bad Points

Only comes in a small range of flavours.
The bags don't seem to come in a range of sizes
Not so cost effective for smaller cats.

General Comments

I chose to switch my cat to Iams dry mix cat food after it was on special offer in the supermarket.

I have what you would generally call a fat lap cat, he would get through 4 pouches of wet food a day, plus he would still be begging for food by bed time, and was rather on the cuddly side.

So we brought one bag of IAMs just to see if he liked it. And as soon as we put it in his bowl, he was wolfing it down!! He loved it.

On first glance at full price it does seem quite expensive at £6 (GBP) for a 1kg bag, but when you work out how much you're meant to be feeding your cat based on it's weight it works out for me to be much cheaper. At my cats weight he should have about 70g a day of dry food, so 1 Bag should feed him for two weeks. Where as before I was giving him 4 pouches of food a day, so a box of 12 only lasted 3 days (so £6 worth of wet food was only 6 days worth of feeds).

I give him half of the food in the morning and half in the evening, and he is no longer begging for food.

Price wise for me it's much better, I didn't buy the cheapest brand of wet cat food but I also didn't buy the most expensive.

1 month of IAMs costs £12 where as 1 month of wet pouches cost £30. If you have a smaller cat it may not work out as good, but for larger cats that eat a lot it's much more cost effective. And he may even loose a few pounds!
