I tried to cancel my service with Directtv before it was even hooked up due to my experience with customer service. After being transferred 4 times and cut off once, I was given a different number and transferred 3 times. Finally, I had the right person! He offered an amazing deal.. I would be paying half as much as I was with dish! Sure, sign me up!! There was a large credit that was to be made to my credit card as well. Yippee! After 3 days, I did not receive the credit so I called back.
I was told that no changes had been made to my account and that there was no credit in the works.. well ..what now? So I told them the deal I was given and they politely changed my service, etc for my installment date 3 days later.
Well, the installer comes in with the wrong equipment (Had the original order, not the twice revised one). So I called customer service again. After being told that my only option was to send the technician away and delete my entire order, I could order again in 3 days. I had already set up to have Dish disconnected the next day, so that means a WHOLE WEEK without TV. This is not an option. I ask to speak with another supervisor. He agrees to change the service and to give me the upgraded equipment that the technician had with him at no costs. He puts me on hold to calculate my credit.. Oops.. dial tone. cut off again!
So two days later, I receive my first bill.. Anxious to see if they had finally gotten it right, I quickly open the statement. I realize I should not have had such high hopes! The bill is for more than twice what I was quoted.
So I am on hold again!! The first girl I speak to tells me to wait while she reads the notes on my account. States that no changes have been to my account and there were no notations in the note section about it. I ask for a supervisor and tell her I would like her name since I have spoken with so many people and keep hearing different things about my account. She refuses to give me her name and says that I did not allow her to read the notes, I specifically remember 10 minutes ago waiting while she read the notes! OK, so on hold for 5 minutes while she reads the notes and says that nothing has changed on the account but DOES see it noted in the notes. I told her that was great but I still wanted to speak to the supervisor. The supervisor is worse than the first girl. He refuses to listen to me and keeps telling me my discount is for auto bill pay for $5, which it is not, it is higher, closer to $15/month. I am repeatedly told that there is no way that I was given this offer. I asked for yet another supervisor when I started to get a headache from my head repeatedly hitting the wall.
I am on hold for at least 5 minutes. The same guy returns to the line. Guess what? He is able to give me my discount and credits like I was originally told. I am now too tired to even watch TV from being on hold, redialing when I am seemingly cut off, and repeating myself.
