Seemed like a good model and was one of the best values around, purhased it at Target for $159.
No keypad lights to control the unit in the dark, which is how I usually watch the movies. Buttons seem like they do what they want, if you Rewind, you could go back 15 minutes in a blink of an eye.
I have had this DVD player from RCA for about 9 months and began having problems with it about a month ago. I first thought it was the DVD since some I have never had problems with and the ones I rented all seemed to fail at about the same time. Then they all failed. Starts by skipping, frame freezes and then blocks and then a total freeze up resulting in having to pull the plug and reset the unit and hope that the problem was solved. Usually it wasn't. You have to pull the unit out and try it all over again. Very frustrating. I will not purchase a RCA again. This thing is a disaster and for the money you pay for it it should last longer than 9 months. Save your money and buy a Sony or a Toshiba.
