Good Points

comfortable to begin with , light ,and good look . the laces have been tied over 400 times and are still in excellent condition as are the cleats. at first i was impressed . still very waterproof after very little treatment and 100's of walks in wet marshy fields in winter and hard dry ground in summer conditions where my feet didn't overheat.

Bad Points

surface leather wore immediately after one walk in wet grass . unperturbed I dried the boots and recoated them . second walk same thing . stopped coating them as they seemed to keep my feet dry no problem. main concern was grip and support . my ankle buckles inside the boot on slopes and support is pathetic ,making me feel I'm continuosly walking up the deck of the sinking titanic ( this from new ). grip feels very bad and I wonder why Brasher do not use the highly rated vibram sole in a product costing in excess of 100 pounds as their own sole simply does not match up in my opinion.

General Comments

I was looking forward to my new Brashers 2 and a half years ago. they were the most expensive boot i had ever invested in . unfortunately I've discovered big price does not mean big results . I wear walking boots minimum 3 times a week 52 weeks a year on uneven slippy terrain . Brashers have let me down seriously on support and grip after a short period . when I pay good money it takes a while to admit ( after perseverance ) that I may have spent unwisely . Pity as they remain very waterproof and the lacing system is still 100%
