Clairol Born Blonde is not too harsh on the hair
Gets rid of even permanent black hair dye. Very briefly, I had had black hair for nearly 2 years, dyed with a permanent black dye, and after being told by hairdressers that lightening it would not be possible, looked up some reviews online for this product, and decided to do it myself. I used a l'oreal prelightener to start with, which wasn't enough, but then ended up using in total 3 packs of the clairol prelightener, 2 in the first session, and 1 in the second session of bleaching, to get rid of the more stubborn parts of black on my hair. My roots had grown out, so unfortunately went blonde, but the rest of my hair went a light-ish coppery brown, which i am about to dye a bright red, so for removing dye, to dye your hair another colour, i would recommend this dye, although it may take a few packs for long black hair. My hair wasn't left too dry, but i did use extra conditioning treatments to avoid brittle hair. No good for those with black hair, to go blonde, you will most likely go a gingery/coppery brown

I use a product by Clairol called "Born Blonde Ultra Blue" to retouch the roots. Then, if I want other tones, ... use Clairol's Born Blonde Ultra Blue. It will not make make your hair orange.
