General Comments

A week before Christmas, we paid $32 for UPS 3-day delivery of a small package of gifts. The gift arrived 8 days late, at which time I was working overseas and lacked access to UPS tracking. When we got back, we filed for a refund, but we were told that we had missed, by one day, the 15-day limit for filing such claims. It's true that on the back of the receipt, item #13 reads, "In the event of a service failure You must contact Us at the location that shipped the parcel within UPS's 15 calendar day notification period." What I didn't know and know now is
a) that if you're going to use UPS, you'd better track every package you send with them, and
b) that if their language is vague--"15 calendar notification period?" 15 calendar days after what?--that won't prevent UPS from enforcing their terms in their own interest.
In a time when spending's down, delivery services have got to be competitive for your business. We'll certainly try to use anyone but UPS in the future.
