PC World - Portsmouth (ocean retail park)
27/12/08 - attended store and purchase 50" samsung 556 plasma with home cinema system ( £839) - paid for items there and then (big mistake!)
15/01/09 - received phone call from Curry's home delivery(?) asking if it was still okay to deliver on sat 17/01/09 - (I hadn't arranged anything and was in france skiing - but the call was welcome as it was the first contact since buying the tv!!!
I informed the guy that monday 19/01/09 would be good for me.
19/01/09 - phoned PC World Portsmouth - they informed me that my tv would be delivered on thursday 22/01/09
21/01/09 - got phone call from Currys home delivery people - confirming with me that it was still okay to deliver the next day. yes I said. chap informed me that my tv had already left the southampton "hub".
22/01/09 - took day off work and rang delivery central on 0844 number to try and tie them down to morning or afternoon slot but they were unable to say, so I sat and waited...and waited....and waited....rang PC World Portsmouth asked to speak to a manager (not avail) so spoke to deputy - informed him of my dilemma as i was now suspecting that my tv wasn't going to arrive...conversation didn't go well as he was unable to confirm it was on its way...spent from 4pm to 5.50pm on phone to him whilst he quickly found out that my tv wasn't being delivered at all...and whilst he attempted to get it delivered asap...finally he managed to get it confirmed for tuesday 27/01/09...hurray
not so fast....popped into Curry's Fareham...spoke to a manager - who informed me that I'd be lucky as there were only 175 tv's and 600+ customers waiting for them!!!!!!!!!!!!
rang PC World Portsmouth - spoke to deputy mgr again - he said he would double check and get back to me.....I was right!! or rather the man at curry's was....not a snowball in hells chance of me getting my tv on 27/01/09 as promised...order cancelled!!! lesson learnt - I will never ever ever shop at pc world ever ever again.
