This intrument lasted me through my beginner stages of clarinet playing. I am now in 8th grade and have upgraded to a buffet r13 but my vito was a great instrument. It survived many drops on the ground, my beginner care for the instrument, and the weather. I would definitely recommend this instrument for beginners who want an instrument to last through their intemediate and beginner years. It is tough to say whether this is an intermediate or beginner instrument. I selected beginner but this instrument did last me through my intermediate years.
