General Comments

Iberia is now a budget airline - Couldn't even get a glass of water for free. I found it to be the worst customer service in the world. Never before have I been prompted to write a letter of complaint. My baggage was severely damage and now completely unusable. As instructed by Iberia service representatives at the airport I called a number and was referred to Menzies Client Solutions. The Iberia customer services representative stated that this company would arrange a time to collect my damaged bag and replace it. When I finally got in contact with Menzies Client Solutions I was informed that they were no longer performing services. I subsequently rang Iberia back. I was agian referred me back to Menzies Client Solutions, and I had to explain three times that they were no longer working for Iberia and I required an alternative solution. I was told Iberia would find out about the concern and ring me back.
Nearly 2 weeks later I called Iberia as I had still not received any feedback. I had the displeasure of speaking with a man who had the worst customer service manner I have ever experienced. He was rude, condescending, constantly spoke over me, refused to give me his correct name, to put me through to another operator who was going to be more polite, or a supervisor or tell me the complaints process. He even pause to make up a name to giv e me. He has stated that I should purchase a new bag and send the receipt to Iberia from whom I would then receive reimbursement. When questioned this it was changed to ' receive a reply ' from Iberia. I requested that this be put in a letter so that I had some evidence that this was the process I had been instructed to follow; however, service assistant refused to do this. This is not satisfactory and I have little confidence that an organisation that has such poor customer service will actually reimburse me for my expenses.
Clearly Iberia is struggling in the current climate and I would think that they would be making efforts to maintain their current customers.
