The best battery life, Optical viewfinder (w/ diopter adjustment) is a must in bright sunlight, throw away the manual - the on screen menus are great. Easy to use for the novice, all the bells & whistles for the advanced user.
Bad Points
A built in lens cap would be a plus, you don't want to scratch this Carl-Zeiss lens. Boot up could be faster.
General Comments
I bought this fine camera to replace my low res Mavica for our cross country trip. We took over 1100 pictures and transferred them to a laptop with the included usb cable. My wife & I are non-professionals and I think we deleted less than 30 pictures in all. This camera will be with me for a loooong time. Goodbye to the developers and the stacks of picture albums - I think the DSC-S70 has already paid for itself.
