General Comments

I've had my Peugeot Sum-up now for little over five months and all i can say is PROBLEMS PROBLEMS PROBLEMS.

I bought the scooter as a mode of transport across London for 1569 pounds but the components are breaking quicker than they can be repaired.

First prob happened the day i got it after only 13 miles when all the lights on the dashboard started flickering on & off, the second was the day after with only 70 miles on the clock the ignition coil died meaning i had to be recovered 2 hours from home.

Took it back to the garage which they rectified it but then three days later the voltage regulator blew meaning the bike had no electricity. Back to the garage again which it was repaired but then a minor wobbling from the front wheel gradually got worse & worse. This has been confirmed as a bent fitting where the brake disc screws onto the wheel and a part has been ordered and will be fitted for me free of charge...but should have been here in october.

Thinking no more could go wrong, the clutch has decided to play up meaning the thing shoots forward from low rev and stalls when you stop, if you're lucky it wont go past 20mph which is absolutely appaling. Alongside that the maximum revs have gradually been dropping from 7,500rpm when i first got it and 6,200rpm which is its max now.

Anyways rant over what does this bike have to offer. To be honest nothing much. It'll happily give you 55mph flat out which is poor for a 125 with a gentleman weighing only 9.5 stone and a light vehicle at only 120kg. It has underseat storage which is far too small for my size L helmet and looks like it won't even hold a medium. It delivers about 60mpg and has a 6 litre fuel tank which took me from London to Gloucestershire on a tank and a quarter and it sounds like a loud moan when its in use which only gets louder the more power you give it.

Both ignition and underseat locks feel stiff as hell and need alot of persuasion and patience just to get the key in, turning it is another story. Two of the three bolts holding the exhaust to the body have unscrewed themselves from the erratic vibration and fallen off and the aluminium heatshield and cap on the exhaust is nearly totally covered with rust.

I honestly am absolutely disgusted with this scooter, i've had bikes 15 years older for 300 quid which have lasted longer than this one. I've even written a letter to Peugeots UK office in Dorset and after six weeks, still no reply. My 100cc Honda lead before had 8,200 miles on the clock with not a single problem, that too was flat out most of the time and gave 55mph with 80mpg for 200 quid less.
