Washing machine broke & needed one urgently as we have a 4 month old. Online ordering meant waiting 5 days, so a phonecall thru to "customer service" advised me to order in-store for next day delivery.
As I've no transport, one poorly baby & nearest store is 2 miles away I looked for a store phone number to pay over the phone. Number went straight to .... "customer service"! Asked to be put thru to the store & was grilled as to why, only to be told they had no facilities there to do a transaction over the phone. When I explained that all that was needed is a phone & a card machine, I was told they couldn't do that & refused any phone access to the branch despite repeated requests.
I had to get my Mum out of work so she could look after my son & I could go to the store in her car.
Got there to be told they COULD do a transaction over the phone due to my circumstances. Oh yeah.....and the next day delivery was £20 extra! Nice of the rep on the phone to tell me that NDD was a 'premium' service & wasn't free.

I've been warned off Currys......can see why now!
