Good Points
Intelligent, inquisitive, energentic, funny, quick to learn, hardy and good sense of fun.
Bad Points
A bit highly strung at times, needs a good amount of exercise daily (which can be a good thing if that suits your lifestyle as it did ours). Bored easily (because they are so intellegent) so need good stimulation with training, games and exercise. Be prepared to groom hs/her coat regularly.
General Comments
We had a beardie for 16 years. He was lovely, funny, loyal, intellegent. We lead active lives and this suited him perfectly, they are agile and love a good romp outside. They also love to be with their owners and are good guard dogs in that they have a deep chesty bark, but once they know that the visitor is welcome they are pleasant and welcoming. He had good health until the end, although he did start to suffer with oesteoarthritis in the last few years - but he slowed down and we moderated his exercise. He was not de-sexed and could be aloof with male dogs this could lead to some territorial issues, but only displays of assertiveness rather than agression. Lovely spirited dogs with engaging dispositions.
