The Memory buffer CAN be cleared easily
Bad Points
They never mentioned in the manual how to clear the memory buffer
General Comments
The Lexmark X63 is a tricky printer and there is info missing from Lexmark. When it stops printing as some of the posters have spoken of there IS a fix that I found that works. Had it not I would have pitched this printer 3 years ago.
The Memory buffer fills which is what causes the "printer busy" message(and also buffer full message or when the printer prints one page and the computer must be restarted to print the next. Lexmark forgot to mention how to clear the buffer and it is VERY simple.
UNPLUG THE PRINTER
PRESS AND HOLD DOWN THE STOP/CLEAR BUTTON
WHILE HOLDING THE BUTTON PLUG THE AC POWER BACK IN
LOOK AT THE LCD PANEL. IT WILL DISPLAY THE FOLLOWING
MEMORY BUFFER CLEARING
MEMORY BUFFER CLEAR
RELEASE THE STOP/HOLD BUTTON
GET ON WITH YOUR LIFE : )
Why they did not include these steps in the manual or on the Printer's webpage I will never understand. Their support agents; at least the ones I spoke to are unaware of this process too. Go figure, because someone DID program is into the printer engine. I guess somewhere along the line they just forgot about it and it was never mentioned again.
You will need to repeat this process when the buffer fills up again but at least you don't need to throw it out.
As I said I learned about this 3 years ago just before throwing the printer out the window. I am now quite happy with the printer. Quite handy!
