General Comments

I flown on a multi-destination ticket with Emirates SYD-BKK, BKK-CDG, CDG-BKK, BKK-SYD. Unfortunately I ended up on the EK419 flight on the 25th of November from Sydney that was diverted to Kuala Lumpur when Bangkok Suvarnabhumi was closed down. They put me and the other passengers in at the Pan-Pacific hotel at KUL, which was a very nice five star hotel, with rooms and food paid for for the duration of our stay. The other airlines like KLM just left their passengers there. It was all nice and well for the passengers going on to Europe, Manchester mostly, they manage to fly on to Dubai the next day at around 3pm. However, for the passengers that wanted to stay in Bangkok, like me, we were left with very little information on what to do next. There were flights to Phuket and Chiang Mai available which would have been fine especially for those who were in a hurry, but they were adament that they will get us to Bangkok and Bangkok only. Later I found out that some of their passengers were taken to Phuket by Emirates via Malaysian Airlines, contrary to what we had been told by the ticketing office - by the time we were offered a flight to Phuket, there were no more seats available. There seems to be little communication between the ticketing office and the airport office as to handle BKK bound paseengers, as well as very little flexibility to route us to other Thailand destinations at least on the part of the ticketing office. In the end, I went straight on to Paris, opting to stop in Bangkok on my return leg. Though I cannot complain much as I was upgraded to Business class in Sydney, and enjoyed eating the free breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the hotel in KL much.

The economy class food and seating were fine, the food was ample and were good if you choose the meals with rice, the seat reclines well enough for me to get some sleep.

I will probably fly emirates again.
