Sunny Balcony, Competent Cleaner, Organised trips


Bad Points

3 hour wait on arrival for room, food average for an "all inclusive" holiday, towels in room old and worn and not enough, worst bed ever slept on, poor fittings in room, tv in room but extra charge to watch, doors on balcony did not lock, no kettle in room, poor bar service, not enough seating in bar area.


General Comments

This Playa Blanca Hotel, Paradise Island seemed to be run for the convenience of the staff rather than the comfort of the guests. Rooms were ready when they decided rather than when guests were arriving. The restaurant service was poor where food was put out in the buffet far too early so it was cool or cold by the time guests were eating. Everything was switched off to a rigid timetable so not even a cup of tea or coffee was available after the deemed closing time. Bar staff were few and far between which resulted in long queues of guests waiting to be served the allocated "two drinks" at a time each. Routine maintenance such as repairing an out of order phone in room was ignored and subsequently a booked day trip was almost missed when reception tried all day to contact us using the reported broken telephone. The extras such as paying (deposit for air conditioning remote) (deposit and charge for tv remote) were not explained or included in the brochure or by the travel agent.
