Internet banking is one of the better ones.
General Comments
I had a loan that I paid off early. When I came to work out the interest, it didn't tally with theirs. I spent a year trying to get them to explain. First of all they told me they didn't produce statements. Then they told me because it had been paid off they couldn't print it off their computer. Then they couldn't find the loan agreement - and then, get this, not only could the branch person in charge of loans, but even the branch manager couldn't tell me how the loan interest was worked out. They had to communicate by email. This took 6 weeks and I STILL haven't had an explanation yet. They finally admitted to having charged 2 months penalty for early repayment (not in the terms & conditions which of course I hadn't lost). This amounted to over £200 - and because they couldn't work that out, they offered me £50 compensation! I am also still waiting for an apology for a 100K CHAPS payment that they just didn't do - but charged me for. Not only did they not do it, they didn't tell me they hadn't.
