Good Points

After some initial problems several years ago when I first used O2, they basically redeemed themselves and provided me with a good service. Until recently they were doing fine.... dare I say I would have even gone as far as recommending them to others. Not anymore!


Bad Points

Where Do I Start? As with most if not everyone I've spoken to or reviews / complaints about O2, IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO GET THROUGH TO THEM be it by phone and not being kept on hold for long periods or getting my message across to the people taking the call when you eventually get through.


General Comments

Back in 2003 when I first used O2 there were a few recurring problems which eventually were resolved and I was overall satisfied with the service.

More recently between Sept 2008 and Jan 2009 I had problems when I supplied them (on several occasions) with my new Credit Card (CC) details. They failed to process the information to allow them to continue to take automatic monthly payments and instead only manual payments were processed. This was only after I'd call them to enquire why my phone had been blocked yet again and moreso WITHOUT ANY WARNING WHATSOEVER i.e. not even a text or call to tell me there is a problem with automatic payment of my bill. Each month I'd be cut off without any notice then eventually I'd get through and repeat my CC. details. They did send out bill reminders but these allways arrived after a block had been put on outgoing calls! What a stupid way of letting people know that somethings wrong. For the past two days I've been unable to pay my bill because of serious problems with their I.T. but meantime my phone is barred!
Anyway in short their customer service is very poor . Me, well I've had enough I've spent far too much time attempting to get through on the phone only to more often than not be kept on hold for long periods, and of course as I'd often have to use another phone to call them (mines was barred) they would be making money from the 0870 number I'd have to call (using 202 is free if using an O2 phone but of course I'm cut off). There realy is a lot more negative stuff I could say about O2 and detail I'd love to go into but my typing speed is poor and I'd be falling asleep at the computer!
Finally I do use Vodafone for my Internet access on my laptop and the minor hic-ups I've had were promptly resolved and therefore I wouldn't hesitate to recomend Vodafone.
