None for me, but if you think children should be seen and not heard, or that your career must come first then this will make hard reading - you may not want to believe the potential impact on your child. That of course is absolutely the reason you should read this now!!
General Comments
An excellent book. Steve Biddulph has a lovely relaxed tone, and injects plenty of humour into a serious subject... making it much easier to read and remember! This book really helps to understand why boys ARE different and how to be the best mum/dad or single parent you can be for your child.
It's challenging to the typical british consumerist lifestyle - but for the RIGHT reason's childhood is short, and if like me and many parents 'all I want is for him to be happy' then you'll love this - even if it means a really good long hard look at your lifestyle and priorities.
Society needs to change to place a higher value on childhood and parenthood... why is it more valued for a mother to go out and do any paid work, than it is for her to be at home raising her own child? Same for Dad's involvement! This book literally helped me change my life and be the mum I felt inside I wanted to be, despite losing career, money and status. I can't say it's been an easy ride, but having this book (and biddulph's others) have been my backstop. comfort and renewed support in the harder moments.
