Good Points

Small, compact, fairly easy to clean


Bad Points

Door hinges seemingly unable to support the weight of a fully loaded door, buckling both the metal brackets and the supports. Surprising given the door storage space provided.

Interior light failed within the first few weeks of purchase.


General Comments

I'm not totally surprised by the quality of this Hotpoint RLA34 fridge, given the make. However, the apparent error by the design engineers for the type of produce expected to be placed in the door storage area, such as 4/6 pint milk containers and other containers of food and drink, is poor. Such load bearing brackets holding the door on are inadequate and poorly mounted, giving rise to the door sagging against its hinges when open and not meeting the fridge main body flush when closing. This lead to the fridge unit not sealing properly, either allowing the door to swing open once the seal completely fails (usually when you have left the kitchen) and for the fridge to work that extra bit harder to keep the interior at the appropriate temperature.

I will not be replacing this fridge with the same make/model
