The Ocean Sands Hotel in Dominican Republic was amazing. The resort was exceptional along with the staff and local people. First Choice gave us a brilliant service and helped us to find this wonderful holiday.
We were transported to and from the airport in a small executive coach towing a trailer with high sides and a lock for the luggage.
On the way back to fly home, the trailer flew open and one of our bags fell out! At the airport the Thompson Airport Rep accepted liability and signed a form to say what had happened to our bag; which was filled with all our son's clothes and belongings along with presents, photographs and various other things belonging to our family. We were told that First Choice would cover everything that was lost. However, many months later and after numerous correspondence, it has left us to claim on our personal insurance which carries a £50 excess for each of the four family members and has not covered the whole amount that we have lost. First Choice have not accepted liability!
After a lovely and exhilarating holiday this incident spoiled the whole thing. It was extremely upsetting for our family and we will never travel with First Choice again. This is a shame because we would have been booking this year with them as we have always had wonderful holidays with this company.
