Bad Points

We made a group booking with Bookable Ski for five families. There was confusion about the number booked and we found it incredibly difficult to contact them to clarify. The date for final payment passed without any reminder, contrary to their terms and conditions, and when we eventually contacted them they insisted we should pay admin costs. Eventually they confirmed the number of people on the booking however on providing names they realised they had made a mistake and told us to reduce our party size threatening to impose further admin charges. Only on seeking assistance from ABTA did we resolve this situation to the extent that one family was unable to travel. Bookable Ski were completely unwilling to assist in rectifying their mistake other than offering flights for the extra people on different dates. They could have secured the same flights albeit at an extra cost. Our dissatisfaction was increased when tickets were still not received just days before we were to travel (over New Year period) which required yet another telephone enquiry. When we received the tickets there was one missing (received on 23rd December!) "To pack or not to pack. That is the question." However the best was yet to come. On checking the tickets we noticed that the return flight had been changed from a direct flight to an indirect flight adding hours to our journey (notwihtstanding the inconvenience of travelling with a baby, a pensioner and loads of teenagers!) When we eventually got through to Bookable Ski the line became disconnected!


General Comments

We will never ever use Bookable Ski again. We are Group Leaders for a large ski group and have organised ski holiday's with various companies every winter for years without any difficulty. The uncertainty and lack of unreliability associated with this booking, bearing in mind our responsibility for others' holidays, created an incredible amount of stress. We had no confidence the flights were booked until we were on them or that the hotel was booked until we were checked in. There lies another story. Notwithstanding confirmation from Bookable Ski that all rooms slept four, half of our rooms only had one king bed. Fortunately the hotel was able to make the relevant changes.)
