Good Points

Looks really nice and has a quality feel to the product, national network of engineers and nice brochures gave impression of quality. !

Bad Points

Poor quality product, expensive parts and "brain surgeon" labour rates for repairs.

General Comments

I bough one of these Waterside MC250 softeners and a local plumber fitted it checking that the water pressure was ok. Leaked flooding the kitchen after about six months and I was told to fit a presssure valve as my water pressure could be fluctuating !. Fitted a pressure valve and a new seal kit, all was ok for six months then another leak appeared causing damage to the magnetic pick up sensor. If you by one of these a bypass valve is "essential", mine has now been out of use for two years as I refuse to spend good money after bad on this junk. Also check that the drain hole at the base of the valve will alow leaks to go in to the salt container as mine was blocked by a foam gasket from new which is a known fault.

GSKM 10.....do you still have the manual for your MC250?
I have one installed but tenant has lost/taken way the instructions so I dont know how to properly reset the time clock and back wash settings.
If you have the manual please post reply and hopefully we can exchange contact data.
    Thanks Ed (EPS)
