Some new games are worth watching.

Poor inexperienced presenters (Ian Wright & Caroline Flack)
Cheap tacky feel to whole thing.
Gladiators are not good at acting, trying too hard.

I enjoyed the original series from the 90s but I was cringing while watching this! Where to begin? To start the presenters are simply not showbiz material. The gladiators were not very good actors and some of their attempts to be the bad guy were simply laughable. Granted some of them have fine physiques but the whole persona was very artificial.
The action which I guess we watch it for was ok, the games were shortened and constant ad interruptions ruined the flow of the program. Some new events were a welcome addition. The new elnimator is pretty much the same thing with tinkering round the edges.
Overall impression is a poor one. I won't be watching too many episodes of this. I would give it 3/10.
