General Comments
I received an offer for Sky half price for 12 months. Decided to take full advantage of this offer and go for sky multiroom at the same time, Ordered on the Tuesday and installation date was the Sunday. Great I thought! Engineer called that morning to say he would be there between 1 & 4. 5pm and no engineer so decided to phone sky which was of course a premium rate number! Was put on hold whilst engineer was called and was told that he had busy work load and had went over time but if I wanted he could be there between 7 & 8 that night. I said fine but was told that I still wasn't guaranteed the installation! 7:30 sky phoned me saying that the engineer would not be coming out as his time had run out! What did I do? Called the whole thing off and asked for my £79 refund! Seemed like a great offer though if that was the kind of problems before I was even connected, I didn't want to be tied to a 12 month contract. Only really wanted it for more variety of cartoons for my daughter and something for me to watch when normal tv was dire. I think I will just stick to freeview and just keep adding to the dvd collection. Was with sky few years ago and there service was outstanding but now like everywhere else it is more focussed on getting the sales rather than the customer! Best thing about freeview is that it is free and you don't have to sit and wait all day for an engineer not to turn up! Limited to the amount of channels yes but I can sit back and watch them safe in the knowledge that there is no direct debit every month!
