I was told someone had written me a 'request for contact' letter. I have a basic membership and can't write back or read this request. When I went to his profile, it said that I had 'requested contact from him!
Not so! I think they send fake messages to get you to sign up and pay money, and as others have pointed out, then it's impossible to cancel! A good site would only charge a few dollars a month and get their funds from the volume of people signing up (which would make it easier to find someone...)
The other problem is that I'm in the States, and the 'contact requests' are coming from GB, Portugal, and Africa...
As others have stated, you cannot see anyone's picture (sorry, but I really do want to put a face to the personality). It's not whether someone is 'ugly' or not, just sometimes you know, you could never fall in love with that face. People at my age, 55, show a lot of their personality in their face, and also their health. I'm not interested in someone who has been smoking and drinking for the last 35 years... The lack of 'real' names is also a problem. They use an awful number/letter code for everyone.
Oh, and one more thing; sounds too much like Parsnip... :)
