General Comments

I switched from a 55 plate Mini One, 1.6l to this a 54 plate clio 182, 2.0l and the power increase was obvious but not too much to handle! The steering is not overly light which give great feedback from the road letting you become more involved with the driving unlike other lighter power steering cars in which you just look at the steering whell and you've done a u-turn. The acceleration is great 0-60 in near as makes no difference 7 secs and of course there is some inevitable tourque steer which is easy to correct. On the road the ride is sublime and even over bumpier roads the lowered suspension still absorbs the bumps the wider stance and longer wheel base allow for the car to corner like it is on rails, you push harder and harder and it still grips, I found that the Mini would stick to the road but the clio is in another league. Despite the clio being a 2.0l beast it still returns reasonable MPG so you wont burn a hole in your pocket and with all the gadgets like cruise control, climate control and the like you are getting a bargain for your money, 5-6k for a top end used model with all that and the extras is hard to find in a hot hatch in it's class.
