General Comments

The BSA Airsporter, a classic design the original Mk1 set the standard, the later Marks lost a little bit of the look with the loss of the tapered barrel, the blued steel finish was always to a high standard, the original early woodwork had style which was lost by the third incarnation with the Mk3 that was built down to a cost. The Mk6 was solid and accurate, the next development being the ' Airsporter S ', this improved the woodwork but made the breach block clumsy, the limited edition Centennial 1 of 1000 was sleek and followed by a full production run marked as the ' Stutzen ' which had a longer fore-stock and shorter barrel, I can say I have had the pleasure of owning and using all the above, the only Airsporter that I did not like was the last model with the rotary breach. When ' Lincoln Jeffries ' introduced the gas tap breach in 1905, it allowed an air-rifle to be made so that the sight line was continuous maintaining the accuracy only achieved by full-bore rifles, I have used break barrels by would always favour an under-lever.
