General Comments

I, like lots of others decided to shop about for car insurance a week before the renewal date in December 2008. I went onto confused.com and entered all my details. I found the site very user friendly and easy to understand and yes I did find quotes that were cheaper than my current insurer - however, the quotes were not quite correct as they had assumed my car was to be insured on a classic policy and would be used only as a weekend toy. Once the confusion (no pun intended) was cleared up, the quotes offered were only marginally lower than my current insurers quote. In the following days as I investigated further I was shocked to receive literally dozens of phone calls from insurers who had got my information from confused,com, one company called me ten times in one day and then the junk mail started to pour in! I eventually stayed with my current insurer with whom I am quite happy. Next year I will probably do the same as I do not find it helpful to be inundated with calls from pushy call centre staff as part of the shopping around for car insurance experience. I do not recommend confused.com.
