General Comments

£8200 paid and no car. From what I have heard many are in the same position, paid for our cars on the basis they were due for collection and then came one excuse after another because there never was any car. I cancelled my order back in November as I saw this coming but sadly for me it was too late, they never paid up. I feel such a fool for paying out all that money, what was I thinking of!

I have been reading all these posting with interest, although I was lucky enought to get my money back. The posting was interesting that even if you only pay the deposit by credit card the credit card under 1974 Section 75 consumer act will protect you for the whole amount as long as under £30,000, I never knew this and perhaps other won't too. I have attached a forum discussion from money saving expert which confirms it, as long as it wasn't American Express or Diners.

I also paid in full and after waiting for 3 months I cancelled my order. It took a further 6 weeks to get my money back (less 100admin, cheeky monkeys) but only after I had spoken to my local Trading Standards Office. If you paid your deposit (and more than 100) by credit card then under the terms of the Consumer Credit Act of 1974 the credit card company is equally liable for the debt. You need to contact them and inform them you wish to make a "like claim" against them.
My advice is to contact your local Trading Standards Office, they are really helpful.
