General Comments

Well Nissan apparently have admitted that the D22 engine has a fault, they have agreed to extend the warranty from 3 to 5 years (engine only- providing service history is spot on every 6,000 miles ), mine is not perfect, they reject under warranty.
But service manager says that he is 99% sure they will repair it under goodwill, Bingo!! they have agreed to pick up all costs and have today sent a brand new short block engine, cost of repairs £5,000. Very happy customer and what a Chrimbo present.

Hi i have a nissan navara D22 and my car is going into nissan today with the same problem as your car it just stopped on the motorway 2 days ago it is a problem that nissan know about the con rod or cam chain, i have only owned the car for 4 days now and only drove it 2 times i have a case manager and hope that they will pick up the bill for this as i dont have £5000 pound to spend on the car if you have any other information that might help please get in contact many thanks carl.

    hi carl
they do stipulate that you need a full 6000 mile service history by a reputable garage, not specifically nissan, so if you dont have one ,try and get one somehow, they picked up the tab for mine but i had the history, all i paid for was a new clutch, which was my choice while the engine was out , my new motor is great and they have assured me that the faulty parts have now been uprated, including modified oil ways ,big end bearings and con rod bolts.
    good luck,
    nick
